Heavy furniture such as beds, large lounges, cabinets and entertainment units is generally not moved as part of a standard carpet cleaning service. If furniture needs to be moved, please discuss this with us when booking so we can confirm what is practical and whether additional charges apply.

If possible, vacuum the carpet before your appointment to remove loose hair, dust and debris. However, don’t worry if you are unable to do so.

Please also let us know about any particular stains, pet accidents, odours or areas of concern before cleaning begins.

Carpet Inspection

Before commencing work, our technician will inspect the carpet and assess its general condition.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include considering:

Correct solution application, agitation where required and effective moisture recovery are important parts of achieving a good result and promoting appropriate drying.

After Cleaning

The carpet will normally remain damp for a period after steam cleaning.

Drying time varies and depends on factors including carpet construction, how heavily it was soiled, the amount of treatment required, indoor temperature, humidity, ventilation and weather conditions.

Where practical, good ventilation and air movement can assist drying. Air conditioning or fans may also help depending on environmental conditions.

Avoid unnecessary foot traffic while the carpet is damp, and supervise children and pets until the carpet has dried.

If any furniture has been moved onto damp carpet, appropriate protection may be required beneath furniture legs to reduce the risk of staining, rust marks or colour transfer.

Pet Urine and Odour

Standard carpet steam cleaning, sanitising or deodorising cannot guarantee complete removal of pet urine odour. Urine may have penetrated through the carpet into the underlay, subfloor or surrounding materials.

Where contamination has reached these materials, additional treatment or replacement of affected carpet and underlay may be required.
